Yung-ho, Pinyin Yonghe, former municipality (shih, or shi), northern Taiwan. In 2010 it became a city district of the special municipality of New Taipei City, the successor of the former T’ai-pei county.

Yung-ho is situated on the west bank of the Hsin-tien (Xindian) River, opposite Taipei special municipality, in the northern part of Taiwan’s western coastal plain. It flourished in the early 18th century and is now a market centre for the tea and rice produced in the surrounding region. Glass and glass products and small machinery manufacturing are the main industries; coal is mined nearby. Yung-ho is a southern suburb and serves as a residential area for Taipei city, to which it is linked by several bridges over the Hsin-tien. Several colleges of teacher training and technology are in the district. Pop. (2015 est.) 225,409.
