Rajgarh, town, northwestern Madhya Pradesh state, central India. It is situated on the Malwa Plateau between the Newaj and Parbati rivers.

The town was founded about 1640 and served as the capital of Rajgarh princely state, established by Umat Rajputs (a warrior caste). It is an agricultural market centre. Notable sites are the ruined fortress of Manyagarh—named in honour of Manya Devi (the tutelar deity of the Chandelas)—the palace, and fine ponds such as Takia Tal, Bhawani, and Kajalia Tal with ghats (bathing steps). There is a college affiliated with Vikram University in Ujjain. Pop. (2001) 23,937; (2011) 20,688.
